Across Kenya, communities are searching for meaningful ways to engage Muslim youth—ways that go beyond entertainment and instead build discipline, identity, and purpose. Out of this need, Champions of Faith was born: a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together sports, Islamic education, mental wellness, and community mentorship into one powerful movement.

Champions of Faith is not just an event. It is a growing national platform designed to raise confident, values-driven youth who are strong in body, mind, and faith.

What Inspired Champions of Faith

The inspiration behind Champions of Faith came from a clear and urgent reality. During long school holidays and transitional periods, many Muslim youth are left without structured activities. This gap exposes them to idleness, peer pressure, substance abuse, and identity confusion.

At the same time, families and community leaders recognized that traditional engagement methods were no longer enough. Youth needed something dynamic, practical, and relatable—without compromising Islamic values.

Champions of Faith was created to fill this gap by using sports as the entry point. Sports naturally attract youth, build discipline, and encourage teamwork. When combined with faith-based guidance and mentorship, they become a powerful tool for transformation. The initiative was designed to answer one core question:

How can we protect and empower our youth while preparing them for success in both dunya and akhirah?

What Happens at a Champions of Faith Event

A Champions of Faith event is a carefully designed ecosystem, not a single activity. Each event blends multiple elements to ensure holistic impact.

At the heart of the event are competitive sports tournaments, hosted in professional, well-organized environments. Youth compete in structured matches under qualified supervision, learning discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Alongside the sports action, participants engage in Seerah-based learning experiences, including the iconic Seerah Tent, where the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is presented in an interactive, youth-friendly format. This allows young people to connect faith to real-life character, leadership, and resilience.

Mental wellness is also a key pillar. On-site mental health and wellness spaces provide awareness sessions, counseling opportunities, and safe environments for open conversation—addressing challenges often ignored in community settings.

Throughout the event, da’wah booths, mentorship stations, and faith discussions offer guidance, reflection, and one-on-one engagement. Families are actively included, making Champions of Faith a shared community experience rather than a youth-only gathering.

Who Participates in Champions of Faith

Champions of Faith brings together a wide cross-section of the Muslim community, united by a shared mission.

Participants include:

This diverse participation creates a rare environment where sports, faith, family, and community leadership intersect. It ensures that youth are supported from every angle—not just on the field, but in their character and personal development.

Why Champions of Faith Is Becoming a National Movement

What sets Champions of Faith apart is its scalability and relevance. The challenges facing Muslim youth are not limited to one city or county—they exist nationwide. The model developed by IMEAWARDS is designed to be replicated across Kenya’s 47 counties, while remaining rooted in local community partnerships.

With each event, the initiative strengthens:

Champions of Faith is steadily evolving from a flagship event into a national youth movement, capable of reaching millions and shaping a generation.
